The team
Next to Henk Savelberg is Gijs Verbeek, chef de cuisine and second man in charge. The last six years Gijs was working at restaurant "De Zwetheul" where he was trained by Eric van Loo and later on by Mario Ridder. Gijs successfully succeeded the SHV master chef class. He started his career as a trainee at "De Treeswijkhoeve" where he developed his ambition for cooking at star level. The hosting and service are in the well trained hands and brains of a couple that already has won their spurs in the gastronomy. Before they decided to work for Savelberg, Maitre Petra van der Baars and Sommelier Johan Spin worked together for over twenty years in "Het Koetshuis Schuttersveld" in Enschede. Johan’s goal is to perfect the already unequalled collection of wines from Savelberg. Ofcourse the classic French wines from the best “Chateaux” do have his interest but the wines from the so called "New World" are definitely worth experiencing according to Johan.
