Restaurant Hotel Savelberg is located at Vreugd & Rust, a historic park in Voorburg. The building dates back to 1751. Once upon a time Vreugd & Rust used to be the place where noble families spend the summer.

It was chef cook Henk Savelberg who in the mid-nineties lay an eye on this historic location. After a couple of years of renovation of the seriously dilapidated building he managed to transform it into a resort of yesteryear.

The unique park lies adjacent to the Vliet, an ancient waterway between Leiden and Delft. Historic cruises on the Vliet offer views of primeval landscapes and typical Dutch 'backyards' of Leiden, Voorschoten, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Rijswijk, The Hague and Delft.

The stunning location and the historic building give Savelberg international stature. For that reason Restaurant Hotel Savelberg was asked to participate in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux association, a collection of unique, charming, independent hotels in more than fifty countries.
